  Open to TAJIT members and guests (registration for this free event is required) 

  Description
  Whether interpreting online or by telephone, or translating texts, we spend a significant part of our time at our desks. Join us for this practical workshop on maintaining physical and ergonomic efficiency! 

  Format:
  - 20-minute talk + Q&A

  - Visuals/Practical Demo: Please submit 3 photos of your workstation (preferably including yourself), similar to the example provided below. Select photos will be used to demonstrate proper vs. improper posture, equipment positioning, and more. (Instructions for submission are provided below.)

  Key Discussion Points:

  - Why Ergonomics Matter for interpreters and translators

  - Posture’s impact on vocal clarity, endurance, and long-term health

  - Common musculoskeletal issues in the profession

  - Best Practices for Seating & Workspace Setup:
  - Chair height, back support, monitor positioning
  - Neutral alignment: wrists/hands, elbows/forearms, head/neck, upper back, shoulders, and mid/low back

  - Quick Adjustments for remote & booth work

  The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants two days before the event and again the afternoon of the event.
